There are a few changes ahead for first home buyers. First home buyers have three months left to make use of an extra $66,000 in their budgets as the new NSW Labor government plans to end former premier Dominic Perrottet’s stamp duty reform.
Few first home buyers have the changes on their radar yet but agents expect there could be a flurry of activity before the deadline, while other buyers will wait for new concessions starting in July.
From July 1, the Labor government aims to scrap the property tax option and commence its stamp duty exemption for first home buyers who purchase properties worth up to $850,000 and concessions for homes up to $1 million.
